Of princes, gondolas and flying hunters
Magnificent baroque gardens, world-famous landscape parks and idyllic grounds with botanical abundance: the network “Garden Dreams – Historical Parks in Saxony-Anhalt”, brings together fifty of the most beautiful parks in the state, including the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom. In 2025, the network will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
On an area of 142 square kilometers, Prince and later Duke Leopold III Friedrich Franz of Anhalt-Dessau (1740 – 1817) created a park landscape the likes of which Germany had never seen before. Along the Middle Elbe, in a harmonious interplay of nature, architecture and fine arts, he linked a total work of art that continues to captivate visitors to this day. The Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.
Please check the seasonal opening hours in advance of your visit.
