Wellness in the Düben Heath
The Düben Heath, located northeast of Leipzig and nestled in a natural river landscape between the Elbe and Mulde rivers, is the largest contiguous recreational mixed forest area in central Germany. In 1992 it was declared a nature park. Numerous hiking trails, adventure and nature trails lead through the beautiful heath forests and moorlands past small forest lakes, romantic clearings and tranquil places. The dreamy Kemberg on Lake Bergwitz, two wonderful spas in Bad Schmiedeberg and Bad Düben, and historic mills are just a few of the many destinations. Gräfenhainichen is also known as the “Gateway to the Düben Heath”.
